Wang Xin (Edward), born 1964 in Xingtai City, Hebei province, currently resides in Beijing. He lived in New York City from 2016 to 2017. Conferred the title of “National First-class Artist”, he currently supervises graduate students studying towards the Master’s in Fine Arts with a specialisation in painting and calligraphy at the Communication University of China (CUC).

In 1991, Wang Xin graduated from the Traditional Chinese Painting Department of the Sichuan Fine Arts Institute. That same year, he held his first solo exhibition, Ink Art of Wang Xin, at the Art Museum of the Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts. He specialises in contemporary ink painting, creating works that blend traditional ink painting techniques with innovative, contemporary expressions. In China, Wang Xin has held solo and group exhibitions in Beijing, Qingdao, Nanjing, and other cities. He has participated in significant art exhibitions such as Residing in Songzhuang and New Spirit of Art, and his works have been displayed at major institutions, including the Sichuan Art Museum and Songzhuang Art Museum. Internationally, his art has been exhibited in Belgium, Italy, France, the Netherlands, South Korea, Japan, and the United States. Notable solo exhibitions in 2017 include Mysterious Glory at the Bahá’í Center in New York and Thatata at the Sino-Japanese Friendship Art Museum in Tokyo.
